The Short Version

We don't collect any data. Period.

GetPassX is a local-only password manager. Your passwords are stored on your device and never transmitted anywhere.

Data Collection

GetPassX does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Specifically:

• We don't collect usage analytics
• We don't track your behavior
• We don't use cookies (except for basic website functionality)
• We don't have access to your passwords
• We don't have servers that store your data

Local Storage

All your data is stored locally on your computer in the following location:

%USERPROFILE%\.pwmanager\

This includes:

• Your encrypted vault (vault.json)
• Application settings (settings.json)
• Cached favicons (favicon_cache/)

Encryption

Your vault is encrypted using AES-256-GCM with keys derived from your master password using Argon2id. We have no way to decrypt your data — only you can access it with your master password or recovery key.

Third-Party Services

GetPassX connects to the following external services for favicon loading:

• Google Favicon Service (www.google.com/s2/favicons)
• DuckDuckGo Icons (icons.duckduckgo.com)

These connections only send the domain names of websites you've saved (not your credentials) to fetch their icons.

Website Analytics

The getpassx.app website does not use any analytics or tracking services.
